What languages are taught? Docs
A: As a community of learners, we acknowledge and promote the opportunity to become multilingual and celebrate cultures other than our own native culture. Because learning additional language(s) facilitates cognitive development and encourages internationalism, additional language learning is an essential and integral element of the curriculum.
All students from KGs to Grade 12 study English and Arabic daily. In the KGs the home-room teacher teaches English and the Arabic teacher enters the class for Arabic.
Grades 1 and 2 are taught English by the form tutor and French and Arabic is taught by the respective language teachers. From Grades 3 to 12 students are taught English, Arabic and French by professionally qualified teachers of these subjects. Arabic is given as a first language from Grades 1 to 12.
However, we support students who are non-Arabic speakers through our Special Arabic Program. This plays a valuable role in supporting them to learn a new language spoken in the place they reside. The SAP meets the need of these students to get acquainted with a new language.
French is given as a second language uniformly from Grades 1 to 12. This caters to the need of the students to understand the language which is internationally recognized.
