JEDDAH — British Consul General in Jeddah Mohammed Shokat recently hosted a function on the consulate premises to acknowledge the achievements of 67 students across 15 British curriculum schools in the western region of Saudi Arabia. Parents, school representatives and students celebrated the success of the outstanding learners in the 2015 Cambridge International Examinations series. The function followed similar events in Riyadh and Al-Khobar. Addressing the guests Shokat said, “Education is the key and with the right education all the doors of opportunity open for every one. We are very proud of having a strong education system in the UK. The Cambridge International Examinations is one of the best expose for the United Kingdom.”
JEDDAH: The British Consulate General and the British Council Jeddah honored 67 students for excelling in the Cambridge IGSCE and A level exams, during a ceremony at the consulate here recently. The students, from from 15 schools in the western provinces of the Kingdom, were presented certificates and plaques.
The categories were Best Across Awards, Top In the Country, Top in Jeddah, Top in the World and High Achievers. Simon Lebus, chief executive of Cambridge Assessment, welcomed the guests, students, parents and teachers. Speaking on the occasion, Philip Rylah, the British Council’s director of examinations for the Middle East and North Africa, appreciated the efforts of the consulate in making the event a success.
